Correcting aspect ratio
Edit

Added by ChileanAnticsThe solution is unbelievably simple - put this as one of your video tags:
yt:stretch=16:9
Note that you can include any other tags that is related to your parody (e.g. "hitler rants parodies", etc.)

Added by Mfaizsyahmiyt:crop=16:9
A very important note is that you absolutely cannot do this if any part of your subtitle is in the bottom letterbox, either incidentally or intentionally.
Exceptions
Edit
You may not be able to correct the aspect ratio of your videos using the above tags (we're not stopping you trying) if:
- Your videos mixes clips of both 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios.
- Part of your subtitle is in the letterbox.
Looping videos indefinitely
Edit
- THIS METHOD NO LONGER WORKS SINCE THE LAST YOUTUBE LAYOUT CHANGE
Go to the Annotations editor of your video that you want to loop.Go to the Video Manager, click the drop-down button next to the video and click Annotations.Open the video's watch page and click the Edit annotations menu above the video player.
In the Annotations editor, drag the time slider to the very end of your video.Insert a Pause event.Set the Pause event's Start (or drag the event in the timeline) to the very end of your video, so the event itself go past the video duration.Set the duration to 0.1 seconds.Save and publish your annotations.
This might not work for some videos, especially the very short ones.
Downloading videos off YouTube (and other video-sharing sites)
Edit
Due to the vast popularity and accessibility of YouTube, many solutions have been developed to download the videos from these websites. Due to that, the steps to download the videos varies, and we will only list out the means of downloading videos. Please refer to the specific manual that comes with each solution.
- Softwares such as YouTube Downloader.
- Websites such as keepvid.
- Browser extensions such as Firefox's DownloadHelper.
- User script extensions such as YouTube Enhancer.
- Firefox users need to install GreaseMonkey or Scriptish extensions.
- Chrome users can install them directly, though the use of TamperMonkey extension is recommended.
- Download managers such as Internet Download Manager or Free Download Manager.
Disputing a (or, in many cases, multiple) false copyright claims
Edit
Whenever you get a dreadful copyright notice from false claimants you may want to dispute the process.
- Prerequisite
- Make sure that your parody does not use materials that the claimant seemed to claim (for example, a claimant that seem to be administering Latino music but you obviously didn't use anything of the sort)
- Any claims by known false claimants (aka the Enemies of The State)
- Step 1
When you first click the link to dispute the claims (worded "I believe this copyright claim is not valid.") you will be presented with the following text:
- "I believe this copyright claim is not valid because:
- I own the CD / DVD or bought the song online.
- I'm not selling the video or making any money from it.
- I gave credit in the video.
- The video is my original content and I own all of the rights to it.
- I have a license or written permission from the proper rights holder to use this material.
- My use of the content meets the legal requirements for fair use or fair dealing under applicable copyright laws.
- The content is in the public domain or is not eligible for copyright protection."
Select the option bolded in this article.
- Step 2
You will be presented with the following text:
- "If you believe your use meets the legal requirements for exemption from copyright under appropriate law, you can dispute this claim. If you are unsure, you should seek legal counsel before submitting a dispute.
- Learn more about copyright on YouTube.
- I am sure that my video meets the legal requirements for fair use and I want to dispute this claim."
Continue to the next step.
- Step 3
This step will list out all claimants and what they are claiming. This example is from Smoglessbutton4's recent dispute process.[1]
- "Claims to dispute
- Audiovisual content administered by:
- Farolatino
- "El pulpo Nazi se vendió", visual content administered by:
- America TV
- "Der Untergang", audiovisual content administered by:
- Audiovisual content administered by:
- geotv
- Audiovisual content administered by:
- Reason for dispute:
- This video uses copyrighted material in a manner that does not require approval of the copyright holder. It is a fair use under copyright law.
- Please explain briefly
- (Text box is located here so you can enter your explaination. HitlerRantsParodies, for example, says "Misidentified content" and this is the recommended.)
- I have a good faith belief that the claim(s) described above have been made in error, and that I have the right(s) necessary to use the contents of my video for the reasons I have stated. I have not knowingly made any false statements, nor am I intentionally abusing this dispute process in order to interfere with the rights of others. I understand that filing fraudulent disputes may result in termination of my YouTube account."
Do not check the claim by Constantin Film. For this example, all other claimants should be checked. Farolatino and geotv are known Enemies of State, and America TV misidentified the clips.
That's it! You've successfully disputed the false claims. The claims should be cleared within the next few days, but it could, on the other hand, take anything up to a month.
