The Traudl and Gerda Talking in Bed Scene is a scene from Downfall rarely used in parodies.

In Downfall

The scene begins with Traudl in the girls' room, trying to open the water taps, which don't work. She then talks to Gerda. Gerda is upset and thinks they will never make it out alive. Traudl says they just need to wait. But Gerda is worried and asks what will happen to them if Hitler kills himself. Traudl tries to reassure Gerda by telling her there is a way to escape. Gerda asks why Traudl said she would stay behind, Traudl replies that she honestly doesn't know. Eva enters and invites them to a walk.

In Downfall Parodies

It's rarely used in parodies. One such rare example is in 1979Onetime's parody entitled Hitler's peephole (the channel is deleted), which portrays Hitler as a pervert who spies on Traudl. Other Untergangers have used the scene in other ways. WonkyTonkBotty also used the scene in Traudl and Gerda fail to flee the Bunker.

  • Right before Eva enters the room, Gerda asks Traudl if they will be able to buy bread at the bakery, like they once did. This part is included only in the Extended Edition.
