The Schutzstaffel (lit. Protection Squadron), also known as the SS, was a major paramilitary organization in Nazi Germany under Adolf Hitler's rule. The SS, under Heinrich Himmler's command, was responsible for most of the atrocities committed by the Reich during World War II. After 1945, the SS was banned in Germany, along with the Nazi Party, as a criminal organization.
In the parodies
Edit
Many of the characters in Downfall are members of the SS, including Otto Günsche, Heinz Linge, Wilhelm Mohnke, Ernst-Günther Schenck, Hermann Fegelein, Peter Högl, Erich Kempka, Ernst-Robert Grawitz and of course, his mentor and organization head Heinrich Himmler. Some parodies, such as those by MoarHitlerParodies, may depict the SS as an anticological organization, thus making their superb loyalty to Hitler a lie in those parodies.
