Hitler's wedding is one of the scenes in Downfall used for making parodies. Interestingly, the main part of the scene itself is seldom used, and the part in which Goebbels cries is far more common (see below).

In Downfall

As Traudl begins to type Hitler's testament, Goebbels enters the room, visibly sad. He tells Traudl that Hitler has ordered him to leave Berlin. As she looks at him with a stunned face, Goebbels tells Traudl that he has never ignored any order from the Führer. Barely holding his tears, he tells her that he'll ignore this order and stay in Berlin. He then asks her to write his testament, but she refuses him, as she's writing Hitler's. Goebbels understands and leaves.

The scene shifts to the main hallway. Hitler and Eva are sitting at a table, Walter Wagner facing them and Joe behind him. The lawyer says that according to racial law he must ask Hitler for his identity card, at which point Goebbels reminds him that he is talking to the Führer himself.

Wagner ignores his last question, and proceeds to ask Hitler and his fiancée the reglementary marital questions. Having both of them replied with Ja, he declared them an officially married couple. The Bunker crew started to cheer, as Traudl finishes typing.

She delivers the will to Hitler, who leaves with Krebs in the nearby room. Traudl tells Eva that she didn't knew about the wedding. Eva begins to joke and they start to laugh. Hitler asks Krebs if they have any news from Keitel or Wenck, and Krebs says no.

In the Parodies

This scene (where Wagner weds the two) has been known to be used in a parody by ChileanAntics depicting Wagner as a Doctor in medicine.

The scene where Goebbels cries in front of Traudl, on the other hand, have been used more extensively. He has been shown crying due to, among others, the loss of his teddy bear and the fear to have his knees broken. In some parodies, Traudl is edited out and replaced with, for example, Speer.

There have been some parodies in which this scene has been used where Goebbels talks to Wagner, but in an insulting manner.

  • The last part of the scene can only be found in the Extended Edition.
  • At one point during the scene, Burgdorf holds two glasses of alcohol.
  • In the scene, Eva tells Traudl that when she signed, she almost wrote Braun instead of Hitler, and had to cross it out. This is visible in the real certificate, where Eva started to sign as Eva Braun and then crossed out the "B" and added "Hitler" followed by "geb. (born) Braun". [note: second page, number 2)].
  • The wedding scene was used in a community parody by 20fadhil, in which Hitler Rants Parodies and JennieParker87 get married.
