Microsoft Sam

Microsoft Sam's appearance in the TTS comedy universe, designed by ThunderBirds101.

Microsoft Sam is the famous Text to Speech voice included with Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Microsoft Sam is the default text-to-speech male voice in Microsoft Windows 2000 and Windows XP. It is used by Narrator, the screen reader program built into the operating system.

Microsoft Mike and Microsoft Mary are optional male and female voices respectively, available for download from the Microsoft website. Michael and Michelle are also optional male and female voices licensed by Microsoft from Lernout & Hauspie, and available through Microsoft Office XP and Microsoft Office 2003 or Microsoft Reader.

Sam was also included in the TTS Program Speakonia, but his speech patterns differ from the Narrator version. Sam is well known for appearing in hundreds of YouTube videos. He is known to sing, read errors and signs, do voice-overs, and all sorts. In these videos, he is most notable for a mispronunciation of the word "SOI" or "soy". When the word is played many times in a row, it sounds like a helicopter, or rather "ROFLcopter".

In Downfall parodies[]

One Downfall parody is made by a Speakonia TTS comedian (also an Unterganger), in which Hitler's sound was changed with that of Sam's. Another parody has him phoning Sam. SDWDownfallParodies also made one parody in which Fegelein replaces Hitler's sound with Sam. Sulacomarine also made a parody. Master Studios used to make MS Sam parodies before becoming an unterganger. Gokyr586 also made a few MS Sam parodies before making Downfall Parodies.
