Germany, officially the Federal Republic of Germany (Bundesrepublik Deutschland), is a federal parliamentary republic in Europe. The country consists of sixteen states while the capital and largest city is Berlin. It covers an area of 357,021 km2 and has a largely temperate seasonal climate. With 81.8 million inhabitants, it is the most populous member state and the largest economy in the European continent. It is one of the major political powers of the European continent and a technological leader in many fields.
Role in Downfall[]
The parodies and the film (except the first part, which takes place at Wolf's Lair), obviously all took place in the country during World War II. Adolf Hitler was the absolute leader in Germany at that time, albeit facing oblivion as the Third Reich is crumbling in Allied hands.
The Reich is often depicted as being perpetually invaded by the Soviets, yet never conquered (see theories surrounding the Parody Universe), being attacked by a variety of enemies (such as the army of Inglourious Basterds Hitler instead of the Soviet Army), being uninvaded/intact and waging campaigns against other nations or individuals (see the Nazi-Soviet Antic War) and so on.
