DatBoiParodies (formerly PotatoParodies and RandomDolfyParodies) is a Chinese-Canadian Unterganger who started making parodies on March 9, 2014.
Style[]
Potato's parodies were simple, with little FX used. Some of his earlier videos were based off of memes and simple ideas that just popped into his head. He also made trapped parodies, influenced by the almighty god himself (Echoes1224), and some musical parodies (AKA cheating).
History[]
In March 2014, Potato found out about DP.Net. After seeing that it was a place where users shared their parodies, Potato said to himself: "Hey, why not make a parody?" However, he was unknown throughout the community, with only a small amount of subscribers.
After winning an award for his trapped parody, he slightly gained popularity for his parodies. He went on the Untergangers Chat and met some other people, like DictatorAntics and Nhlfan40.
In response to the poorly-made on purpose parodies meant to mock Micwan32, he created the Worst Downfall Parody Contest, which WonkyTonkBotty won.
He took over hosting of the Unterganger Minecraft Server from Johnnomonster in August 2015.
He changed his name from RandomDolfyParodies to PotatoParodies on January 1, 2016. In that same month, Potato had quit the Hitler Rants Parodies Chat Room, due to his unhappiness regarding the state of that chat, prior to CanaDolfy98's exit from the community. However, he came back to The Downfall Parodies Society Chat Room around June 2016.
On April 1st, Potato uploaded his biggest project and his longest parody, a full feature-length parody.
He announced the Depressing Parody Contest in October 2016. It was unfortunately cancelled in November 2016 due to lack of participation. On March 31, 2017, PotatoParodies announced his joke retirement, and rebranded his channel to DatBoiParodies, a channel exclusively based on Internet sensation Dat Boi. Despite this being his annual April Fools stunt, he will maintain the branding until further notice on the basis of laziness.
On the 17th of April 2018, he announced that he would delete all of his channel's in a week's time and gave Delphox permission to re-upload them.
